Past riders will know that we have headquartered at the Bell Family YMCA in the past. They are still one of our ride charities. This year we are using the Hartwell First United Methodist Church as our assembling place as we have moved the start and finish to downtown Depot St. Directions from I-85 north of Atlanta: Take the Exit 177 off of Interstate I-85 (this is near the GA-SC border), and go south on GA Hwy. 77 which leads to Hartwell (approximately 12 miles away). In Hartwell, stay on US-29/GA-8 North to Webb St. The church is on the corner and the staging area is behind the church.
Camping is available at the Hartwell YMCA on Friday night. The showers at the Y will be open until 6 on Saturday evening.
For a number of years the Boy Scouts have helped Kiwanis by providing manpower at the SAG stops along the way.
The Challenge of the Centuries has long been considered a tuneup for BRAG. Is it time for your first century ride? Is a 35 mile ride going to be your longest bike ride ever? Either way, we're prepared to make this a fun day for your personal cycling challenge. Register early to save and receive a free t-shirt. Join us on Facebook to share your photos from the ride!
.This ride is sponsored by the Hartwell Kiwanis Club. We support with the proceeds of the ride, Hartwell YMCA, Dolly Parton Imagination Library, and the Boy Scouts. Hartwell is proud of the YMCA we have, outstanding for a town of 5,000. Dolly Parton Imagination Library distributes about 12,000 books a year free to local children 0-5.
